After the University Boat Race on Saturday, 11 April 2015, at around 9.50pm 29-year-old Charles Linard was assaulted inside Be At One bar on Putney High Street.

During the incident the defendant Ali Nariman is accused of biting off the top inch of the victim's ear. London Ambulance Service attended and took Mr Linard to a central London hospital for treatment.

In court Mr Linard said that he lent towards 35 year old Mr Nariman to hear what the defendant was going to say, whilst Mr Nairman's defence lawyer has accused Mr Linard of being aggressive and racist after eleven hours of drinking with his friends. Mr Linard denied assaulting, swearing at or insulting the defendant.

The trial continues.
