The Barnes Music Festival returns from 7–22 March , bringing two weeks of concerts, recitals and community events inspired by this year’s theme, “Musical Roots.”

While the festival is centred around Barnes, several events reach across the river — including a standout evening in Putney.

On Wednesday 11 March, All Saints Church will host the award-winning Natrio Trumpet Trio, whose wide-ranging programme spans classical repertoire, jazz influences and popular arrangements. Their appearance is expected to be one of the festival’s most distinctive chamber concerts, showcasing the versatility of the modern trumpet ensemble in an atmospheric setting.

Beyond Putney, the festival offers an ambitious line-up featuring internationally recognised artists and ensembles. Highlights include performances by Roderick Williams, Benjamin Grosvenor, Tenebrae Associate Artists, Aurora Orchestra Principals and musicians from Garsington Opera. Audiences can also look forward to choral music such as Brahms’s German Requiem, family-friendly events, pop-up performances around Barnes, and the return of the innovative Alehouse Sessions with Barokksolistene.

Now in its twelfth year, the Barnes Music Festival continues to bring high-quality music into local venues, celebrating both established performers and emerging talent while drawing on the area’s rich cultural heritage.
