BobCat Gallery event features work of artists from the country
November 5, 2025 BobCat Gallery in Putney is set to host a one-night-only art auction and fundraiser on Thursday 20 November in support of UAID International, a grassroots charity delivering urgent medical and humanitarian aid across Ukraine. The event, held at the gallery’s space in Putney Exchange Shopping Centre, will feature original works by at least 18 contemporary Ukrainian artists, with proceeds going directly to UAID’s frontline efforts. The auction forms part of BobCat Gallery’s November collection, which runs from 31 October to 22 November and includes a curated selection of Ukrainian artworks available for purchase. The gallery will also host a Meet the Artists evening on Thursday 6 November, offering visitors a chance to engage with the creators behind the works. Catherine Sweet, curator and founder of BobCat Gallery, said the exhibition was a chance to support both humanitarian relief and cultural exchange. “Showcasing works like these, and supporting this important work through a fundraising auction, means that we have an opportunity to bring aid and respite to those affected by the conflict, as well as reminding us what a wonderful creative contribution Ukrainian artists can make to our society.” UAID International, founded by Natalia Tronenko, partners with hospitals, state services, and volunteers to deliver aid directly to communities affected by the war. “We ensure that humanitarian and medical aid goes to the right places, directly and quickly, and that there is no duplication of effort,” Ms Tronenko said. “All of the funds raised from these artworks selling will help further our mission to target support exactly where it is most needed on the ground in Ukraine.” The charity has delivered medical kits, ambulances, evacuation vehicles, generators, and equipment to regions including Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Bucha, and Kherson. Alongside its aid work, UAID also organises cultural events to showcase Ukrainian heritage and engage the British public. BobCat Gallery, known for its commitment to accessible and affordable art, continues to champion fair compensation for artists while using its platform to support social causes. The gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10.30am to 6.30pm, with Monday visits available by appointment. Tickets for the Meet the Artists evening are free and can be booked via ticketsource.co.uk/bobcat-gallery.
