Brought together to highlight the possibilities of a world without war
June 20, 2025 Independent art retailer BobCat Gallery is to host a pop-up showcase of original artworks from Ukrainian artists from the Save Art in Ukraine collection. Save Art in Ukraine was founded to protect and preserve monuments of culture and works of art across Ukraine which are at risk due to the full-scale invasion by Putin’s Russia. The works will be on display in the gallery in the Putney Exchange Shopping Centre between 8 - 26 July. Yaroslove Bystrushkin, founder of Save Art in Ukraine and producer of this collection, says, “I am bringing this collection together not only to highlight the talent of these artists, but as a counterpoint to the brutality we have witnessed during this war. I would like to provide a beautiful and uplifting selection of work that celebrates the cultural heritage of Ukraine, and shows what is possible in a world without war.” Catherine Sweet, Founder of BobCat Gallery, adds, “Amongst the wider collection of artwork available at the gallery for July, I am delighted to host this collection of uplifting works from 13 Ukrainian artists, selected to provide a moment of respite and reflection. I am happy to be able to provide space for this collection as a snapshot of what is possible when people are able to freely express themselves without fear, oppression or persecution.” The gallery will host a Meet the Artists evening at the gallery on Thursday 17 July between 5.30 - 7.30pm. Free tickets are available via this link. For more information visit www.BobCatGallery.co.uk
