Vandals have damaged the lighting system within days of being turned on by the Mayor of Wandsworth Councillor Jane Cooper and Putney MP Justine Greening on 29th August.

Thamesfield Coumcillor Roemary Torrington told this website that the Council is looking at ways to deter future vandalism attempts: "‘Following the unveiling of the spectacular bridge lights on Putney Bridge, Thamesfield councillors are disappointed by the recent vandalism of the lights. We are working with police to address the problem and would welcome any information from residents who witness incidents."

Putney's MP Justine Greening told this website: "This is senseless vandalism and I hope that Wandsworth Council can make the necessary repairs as soon as possible."

Anyone who may have seen the vandals or has any information should contact Thamefield SNT by email or calling 0208 785 8874.
