Putney's own Olympic silver medallist, Heavyweight Joe 'Juggernaut' Joyce broke a 106-year record by becoming the Commonwealth Champion in his fourth professional bout.

Former Elliott School pupil and 2016 Olympic silver medallist – Joe was relentless from the start and flooring Thomas towards the end of the first round.

In the second round at the O2Arena Thomas hit the mat after a left hook from Joe.

Joe said afterwards: "“I’m ready for anything. The world’s my oyster.”
