The man who was the victim of a stabbing in Putney earlier this month has died of his wounds.

42-year-old Ralph Gibson was found with serious knife injuries at a house on Huntingfield Road at around 5.35pm on 15 April.

He was taken to hospital but died this Friday (24 April).

The police have now launched a murder investigation.

Three men aged 31, 24 and 20 were arrested on suspicion of GBH and have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Detective Chief Inspector Richard Vandenbergh from Specialist Crime, who leads the investigation, said, “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Huntingfield Road and Pleasance Road in Putney on the evening of 15 April to come forward and speak to officers if you saw or heard anything that could assist this investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 or tweet @MetCC; alternatively you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
