A teenager from Roehampton has been arrested after police found him carrying a shotgun with ammunition.

18-year-old Shakeer Bentamoune-Wilson of Tangley Grove is due to appear in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 11 April charged with possession of a prohibited weapon with intent to endanger life, possession of ammunition with intent to endanger life, and possession of herbal cannabis.

Officers stopped a taxi Bentamoune-Wilson was travelling in at around 10.45pm on Wednesday 8 April in York Road, Battersea, and found him to be in possession of a plastic bag containing a sawn-off shot gun and cartridges.

He was arrested and taken into custody at a south London police station where he was subsequently charged.
