Thursday saw a series of raids in Roehampton and other areas
Dawn raids took place at eight addresses - mainly in Roehampton, but also in Battersea and neighbouring Hammersmith and Fulham, following weeks of painstaking preparation work by detectives investigating youth gangs. After compiling a list of addresses to target through detailed intelligence gathering and surveillance work, the raids culminated in the arrest of eight people and the recovery of a quantity of drugs and cash. Detective Superintendent Gerry Campbell said: "We are absolutely resolute in our determination to make the borough a safer place and equally determined to identify, arrest and seek the prosecution of those who cause harm and suffering in our community." Edward Lister Leader of Wandsworth Council added: "And our housing department will also be looking to take its own legal action against those involved in criminal behaviour who live in council-owned accommodation."
