A 57 year old Polish man has died after falling from a ladder when cleaning windows. Odd job man Wojciech Baczkiewicz from Tooting was working at a house in Beaufort Drive, Putney in June this year when he decided to place his ladder against scaffolding. His daughter Agnieszka , who was helping him, advised against it. A few minutes afterwards she heard a loud bang and found her father on the ground holding his stomach. Paramedics discovered two deep puncture wounds in his abdomen caused by the railings he had fallen onto.

An air ambulance attended the scene and he was taken to St. George's Hospital but he died later.

Police investigations revealed that Mr. Baczkiewicz had not asked the project managers who had put up the scaffolding to use them and that the structure was incomplete so he would have been told not to.

The Coroner recorded a verdict of accidental death.
