Putney's Nabi Salehi completed his world record attempt on Friday and having completed 526 haircuts in 24 hours he has unofficially beaten the previous world record of 241.

A few months ago PutneySW15 interviewed Nabi after the refurbish & launch of his Putney Barbers Shop A&N Style on the Lower Richmond Rd. he told us then that the haircuts were free but he hoped that volunteers would make donations to the nearby Royal Hospital For Neuro-disability. he should be proud of his achievement as he raised a hair raising £2,344.

The criteria for the record attempt, meant people having the cuts had to have hair at least 1cm long to start with, and there had to be a noticeable difference in the appearance of those who came in with long hair.

Nabi told BBC London:
"My fingers and hands are sore and I'm only just about standing but I'm pleased with the record and with the money I've raised - it's a great local charity."

The event was independently witnessed and video and these records will be submitted to the Guinness World Records for it to ratify the record - we look forward to the official presentation!
