Large areas of road surface between Armoury Way and Putney High Street will be broken out and replaced starting on Monday 16 February.

The works are expected to last for approximately 12 days and will be completed in sections to minimise traffic disruption.

On Sunday 22 February the entire road will be closed in both directions and a traffic diversion will be in place. The closure will last from 9am to 4pm and local traffic will be allowed access.

Throughout the project, which has been timed to coincide with the half-term traffic lull, work will begin each day at 9am and finish at 4pm to avoid the morning and evening rushhours.

However some restrictions will remain in place outside of the main working hours and drivers and cyclists are being advised to use alternatives routes if they can.

Projected phases:

Phase 1
On Monday 16/02/2015 and Tuesday 17/02/2015, from 50m west of the junction of Armoury Way to the junction Point Pleasant. Works starts from 09:00 hours to 16:00 hours.

Phase 2
On Wednesday 18/02/2015 and Thursday 19/02/2015, from the junction of Wadham Road to St Georges Court. Works starts from 09:00 hours to 16:00 hours.

Phase 3
On Friday 20/02/2015 and Monday 23/02/2015, from the junction of Oxford Road to the junction of Brewhouse Lane. Works starts from 09:00 hours to 16:00 hours.

Phase 4
On Sunday 22/02/2015, Putney Bridge Road is closed fully from the junction of Armoury Way to the junction of Putney High Street. Local diversions apply. Works starts from 09:00 hours to 16:00 hours.

Phase 5
On Tuesday 24/02/2015 and Wednesday 25/02/2015, from the junction of Putney High Street to Brewhouse Lane. Works starts from 09:00 hours to 16:00 hours.

The project is part of the council’s roads investment programme which is keeping the local network in the best possible condition.

The work will be carried out by contractor FM Conway on behalf of the council.

Local residents have been informed and can contact engineer Paul Swallow on 020 8871 6686 if they have any concerns.
