Memorial service for the fallen pupils in July
Since the closure of Wandsworth School, which was then demolished in the late 90s, the various war memorial plaques were either lost or destroyed. Over the last few years however, the Trustees of the Old Wandsworthians Memorial Trust have conducted a search for more and more information and recently we uncovered news clips and articles that have enabled us to have a new plaque created in memory of the fallen. St Cecilia’s School Wandsworth was built on the old grounds earlier this century and the Headmaster of the new school has agreed to the Trust erecting the new plaque inside the School building to be seen by pupils, staff and visitors on a daily basis. Please go to the following link http://www.old-wandsworthians-trust.com/wandsworth-school/roll-of-honour/ . Here you will find both Roll of Honour Lists for WW1 & WW2. The memorial service will be held on Wednesday from 3pm on July 8th 2015 at St Cecilia’s School Wandsworth. The service will be conducted by the Rt Revd Dr Richard Cheetham, Bishop of Kingston and Lord Dannatt GCB CBE MC DL, is representing the armed forces, who will be unveiling the plaque.
