The band from South Thames College performed at The Royal Festival Hall

Number 23, South Thames College’s student band, sang to a one thousand strong audience at the prestigious Royal Festival Hall on Monday night. Songs included Mystery, one written, arranged and directed by the students themselves.
Vocalist and student Ella Howell said:
“The performance was an amazing experience. I’ve never played at such a large venue. It has encouraged me to pursue my career in music. We were really nervous before the performance, but once we completed our set, we wanted to get back on the stage again.”

The music department at the College is successful and names Miss Dynamite as a past pupil. Students from the music department compete in national competitions and in recent years won the World Skills UK competition in 2010 and were runners up in 2011.

Nick Osbourne from the College music department said:
" Not everyone gets to perform on stage at the Royal Festival Hall. We encourage students to perform publicly to gain the invaluable experience to give them confidence."

Sing Inspiration is organised by iGospel UK and is now in its sixth year. It runs over two days and is an inspirational music project that sets up choirs for different age groups around the country. The event continues and will include sets from MOBO Award winner Rachel Kerr and up and coming London singer Israel J Allen.
