Free access weekend aims to encourage newcomers to try the service
People keen to try cycling can take advantage of Santander Cycles' free access weekend this Saturday and Sunday. The free access weekend aims to give people a chance to try the scheme for the first time and if you're a regular user, it is a chance to pedal around the Capital for 30 minutes without paying a penny. The popular cycle scheme celebrated its fifth anniversary last month, notching up nearly 43 million journeys made since its launch. In March 2016, Santander Cycles will expand eastwards into Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and an additional 1,000 docking points are planned within the existing zone. How does it work? 1.Hire 2.Ride 3.Return The free access weekend will mean that users are not charged the daily £2 fee.
