Detectives are hunting those who took part in August’s violent disturbances
One of the images shows one looter brazenly carrying off a large Panasonic music centre. Another shows a blonde woman, surrounded by looted debris, calmly helping herself to items inside a shop. The latest set of images from Clapham Junction were among more than 200 published yesterday from disturbances across London as police step up their efforts to catch offenders. So far 3,269 people have been arrested by the Met for offences ranging from burglary, theft and handling stolen goods to violent disorder and assault. Across the capital a total of 22 London boroughs were affected by August's disturbances.
Commander Steve Rodhouse, who is leading the Met's ongoing efforts to catch those responsible - Operation Withern - said:
Commander Rodhouse continued: Anyone who can identify people shown in the images can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 - doing so anonymously if they wish. If the information leads to an individual being arrested and charged then those who provided that information could earn a community reward of up to £1,000. Images of all the suspects currently being hunted by police as part of the Operation Wither winter campaign can be seen here.
