Since work began in May, 6,423 potholes have been filled in across 14 wards. The borough’s three pothole repair crews have been focussing on problem potholes in Balham, Fairfield and Thamesfield this month. So far they have repaired 213 in Balham, 241 in Fairfield and 243 in Thamesfield.

To date they have filled in 932 potholes in Roehampton, 408 in Tooting and 646 in East Putney.
Crews have also repaired 942 potholes in Queenstown, 1,048 in Northcote and 180 in Shaftesbury – while in May and June they fixed 375 in West Putney, 267 in Wandsworth Common, 302 in St Mary’s Park, 401 in Furzedown and 225 in Southfields.

Each month they have been focussing their efforts on specific wards before moving on to the next scheduled area, with the ultimate aim of covering the entire borough. A rapid response team will be dealing with urgent non pothole repairs across the borough

A further three crews, which have been tasked with fixing pavement problems, are spending September carrying out repair work in Graveney, Northcote and Shaftesbury. To-date they have carried out repairs in Roehampton, Southfields, Tooting, Balham, Fairfield, Thamesfield, Earlsfield, Nightingale, West Hill, Bedford and Latchmere. The work is linked to the Cleaner Wandsworth campaign, which is working to make the borough's streets the cleanest in the capital.

As part of the pothole and pavement repair project, many roads will be completely resurfaced and some roads will have their pavements completely re-laid. The table below shows some of the roads that have been resurfaced so far.

Leaflets will be sent to homes across the borough to let people know when the repair crews will be working in their neighbourhoods.

Wandsworth is responsible for 1,500 roads stretching over 360km with 746km of pavements, many of which were constructed more than 100 years ago. The country has seen some of the worst winters over the past four years causing huge damage by weakening the road surface and creating many more potholes.
