Staion reopened but delays expected until 2pm
A man has died after being hit by a train this morning, according to the London Ambulance Service. The incident happened just after 7.45am when a person was reported under a train. A death was confirmed just before 9.30am.
South West Trains have tweeted:
Services are expected to be disrupted until at least 14:00.
They have also said that
"London Buses, London Underground and First Great Western are accepting our tickets via any reasonable route".
According to @bobtheidiot the incident occured between the station and the bridge at Oxford Rd.Tweeting; " If your travel is affected, this is where the incident has happened. (Just to help people plan around it.)"
Commuters have also tweeted their condolences: "Thoughts are with the loved ones of the person hit by a train at #Putney, & the train crew too x" @Lizzythebrit Florence-Ray @politelynef " Someone has chosen to end their life at Putney station. It's real sad".
Commuters from Wimbledon have also had delays to their journey due to a fire between Wimbledon & Raynes Park.
