Police are appealing for witnesses after the theft
The item was stolen sometime between 21:00hrs on Saturday, 12 September and 06:30hrs on Sunday, 13 September from outside Marks and Spencer in Clarence Street.
Staff opening the store noticed the large metal box that previously housed the defibrillator was empty.
Sergeant Dave Williams, from Kingston Town Centre Team, said: "The defibrillator was installed outside M&S a year ago to provide potentially life-saving treatment following cardiac arrest and it is sad that someone would see fit to steal it.
"We are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to please come forward."
Anyone who can help should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
