Shooting Star CHASE Director of Care and nurse, Bridget Turner, has set herself an incredible challenge this August.

Bridget, along with her daughter Hollie and three friends, including Toni Schwartz, a Shooting Star CHASE trustee,
have formed
Team CHA CHA CHA, and have been training since 2010 in preparation for a Cross Channel Swim.

She decided to mark the 10th birthday year of Christopher's, one of the hospices based in Guildford, and her ten years of working at the charity, so decided to test her strength and courage with the ultimate challenge.

The team hope to raise £50,000 by taking on the Channel – which will go towards caring for over 500 families living in western London, Surrey and West Sussex.

Bridget said: “I wanted to mark my 10 years of being with Shooting Star CHASE by giving myself (and my daughter and friends) the ultimate test.

“The families I come into contact every day are not as fortunate as many of us, and they cannot choose their challenges. They have to cope in unimaginable circumstances 24/7.  I wanted to put myself way out of my comfort zone and take on a difficult challenge which would ultimately make a difference to them.

“I am petrified.  To think that in just over two weeks we will be swimming the Channel is daunting - but I am determined to do it.  Too many people are depending on me.  Please help us reach our £50,000 and sponsor us.”
