The replacement for the much-missed Ma Goa is an Indian restaurant called Cilantro.

Opened recently at 244 Upper Richmond Road, the new establishment promises modern and healthy Indian cooking with dishes that are not too heavy or greasy.

The name Cilantro is what Americans call coriander leaves.

The new owners claim 75 years combined experience in the business with some staff coming from ‘Michelin-star backgrounds’.

The team is led by co-founder Raje Senthil who worked in family-run restaurants in her home country of India. She will be taking her family’s traditional recipes and adding a contemporary twist.

Delivery and takeaway are offered through services like Deliveroo.
