The vacant site formerly occupied by Cantinetta restaurant is to become a new branch of Brew an international chain of antipodean restaurants.

They have outlets in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Melbourne as well as Battersea and Wimbledon. It opened another branch on Old York Road Wandsworth towards the end of last year and Putney will be its fourth in the UK.

They claim to be ‘best known for our innovative breakfasts using a diverse and unusual mix of ingredients.’

The menu for their existing London outlets includes breakfast items (served all day) such as blueberry pancakes for £8.50, eggs Benedict for £8.90 and chorizo scrambled eggs on sourdough toast for £9.50. On the dinner menu burgers and steaks predominate with house ground beef burger costing £10.50.

The chain was founded by Australian Jason Wells who has been reported as saying that he would like ten branches of Brew by the end of the year.

We contacted Brew to ask what the planned opening date was but have yet to receive a reply.
