Fire Brigade investigating devastating blaze

The Culture Cafe, on the site of the old Bowling Pavillion in Wandsworth Park, has been wrecked in a blaze in the early hours of yesterday morning.
 
Fire Brigades from Wandsworth, Fulham, Battersea and Hammersmith fought the fire, which was first reported at 00.38hrs on Sunday and the Four fire crews that attended had it under control by 01.53hrs. Fire crews came from four stations; Wandsworth, Fulham, Batterseas & Hammersmith.

About 30% of the cafe has been destroyed according to the London Fire Brigade press office.

The Culture Café is a much-love local spot for refreshments. On learning of the fire, local SW18 resident Matthew Taylor told our sister site www.WandsworthSW18.com:
“This is shocking news. I often take my children down to play in the park and always visit the café for drinks and snacks.”

London Fire Brigade is investigating the cause of the fire.
