Putney Society Hosts Hustings for the Commons Conservator Election |

A chance to hear from the candidates
February 23, 2024 This Monday (26 February) there will be a hustings for the Wimbledon and Putney Commons Conservator Election. Organised by the Putney Society, it is taking place at The Community Church, Werter Road (SW15 2LL) starting at 7.30pm. It is opened for all not just members of the society. Six people will be standing in the forthcoming elections.Susan Bucknall and Michael Frederick Johnston are existing trustees standing for re-election. David Ian Brown, William Liu, Mauro Mattiuzzo and David William McClean will also be on the ballot. Five of the candidates will become elected trustees. All levy payers have the right to vote by either postal ballot or online. Voting has begun and conclude at 5pm on 6 March. Electors are those persons who are on the local authority electoral role and who live within three-quarters of a mile of Wimbledon Common/Putney Heath or in the old Parish of Putney as it was in 1871. If you have not received your ballot paper you should call 020 8788 765 or send an email to election@wpcc.org.uk Mr Nigel Ware, the Home Office appointed Conservator, has been appointed as Returning Officer and Civica Election Services Limited has been appointed as Scrutineer.
