Free eco-themed creative workshops taking place through August
August 5, 2025 A temporary garden installation at Putney Exchange Shopping Centre is drawing attention this summer, offering a green retreat and a series of family-friendly events. The pop-up garden, which includes real trees and wildflowers, was introduced earlier this season and has quickly become a popular space for visitors. Among the first events hosted in the garden was a flower wall installation created in collaboration with local illustrator Gizem Gozde Ucar. The garden also saw appearances from characters including the Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child. Throughout August, the shopping centre will host free eco-themed creative workshops every Saturday. These drop-in sessions are designed for children and families and focus on sustainable activities. Later in the month, Waterstones Putney will hold story time sessions in the garden space. Additional events are expected to take place across the centre during August. Organisers say the initiative is intended to provide a relaxing environment for visitors and to encourage community engagement through accessible programming. More information about the events can be found on the Putney Exchange website.
