This month the Knitting Concert at All Saints' Church in Putney is being performed by the Bernadel Quartet.

Previous attendees may already have heard William Melvin in action with his brother Leo at a trio concert in February. This month he returns with his quartet, the Bernadel, to perform an Austrian/Hungarian programme of Haydn and Bartok, juxtaposing Haydn's wit and lyricism with the war-torn and folk-inspired tragedy of Bartok's Second Quartet, written during the First World War.

As ever the concert is free with complimentary wine and soft drinks and you are invited to bring something (not too noisy!) to do whilst you listen if you want to. The retiring collection will be for Starlight, a charity that the Melvin family have supported on several previous occasions and which enables terminally ill children and their families to fulfil a dream of a lifetime.

The concert takes place on Sunday 14th July at All Saints' Church, Putney Common beginning at 7pm.

Programme and Performers

William Melvin and Cassi Hamilton (violins)
Richard Waters (viola) and Abi Hyde-Smith (cello)
