January 2004 listings

December is always a month of the best in live music at the Halfmoon Putney.

This December includes two members of the Rolling Stones’ extended family (Chris Jagger, Leah Wood); Halfmoon favourites Wilko Johnson, The Hamsters, Hank Wangford and John Otway; the UK’s best live hip-hop group and MOBO nominees Shorty; the “best of” the Acoustic Session (15th and 22nd, with special guests); the best up & coming bands from the indie circuit (including Ideophone and the excellent Riverway, younger brothers of Elvis Costello).

The folk season continues hosted by Johnny ‘Jonah’ Jones and Simon Hart. This month sees the fantastic Colvin Quarmby and the hilarious Earl Okin – TV celebrity, jazz musician and comedian, a real Christmas treat.

Due to huge demand, The Rollin’ Stoned have added an extra date at the Halfmoon on Sunday 14th, the Saturday gig is now completely sold out.

Finally, a reminder to BOOK EARLY for New Year’s Eve. If you didn’t know already, this year’s theme is 60’s, with an optional dress code based on “Mods’n’Rockers” and “Carnaby Chicks”. Live music comes from The Mods, performing classics from The Who, Small Faces, Nashville Teens and many more. Tickets are only £15, and thus will sell pretty quickly, so don’t miss out!!!
