Boat Race Day in Putney is always a great event, so why not come along to Putney for the whole day to enjoy our restaurants/cafés, great shopping, and cosmopolitan bars throughout the town and by the river.

This year’s BNY Mellon Boat Race doesn’t start till 6pm, so that leaves plenty of time to explore and enjoy Putney. We have a great range of shops (including TK Maxx River Island, Maplin and Topshop) and shops/cafés are making a range of special offers available on the day to make your stay more enjoyable - so why not check out www.wandsworth.gov.uk/boatrace for the latest list of special offers, vouchers and activities.

You probably already know about the fantastic range of pubs, restaurants and café’s in Putney, but did you know that we have our own Putney Sculpture Trail spread out along a leafy riverside walk? (see www.wandsworth.gov.uk/putney) Or that the Putney Debates were held by Cromwell’s army in 1647 in St Mary’s Church, while debating what to do with the King? Interested? Then visit the permanent exhibition in St Mary’s (through the café, by the main congregation area).

We also have a large World Village Market in church square (by Putney Bridge) all weekend, with live music and street food stall in the nearby forecourt of Saint Mary’s church to provide a great atmosphere. And there will also be live and DJ presented music in pubs and bars around the town – more details available in late March at www.wandsworth.gov.uk/putney.

We look forward to giving you a warm welcome when you visit Putney– why not invite some friends along for a fantastic day out!
