Open Book Theatre Company brings the magic and madness of Lewis Carroll’s classic novel
Alice in Wonderland is coming to your local library, in a fully interactive, promenade performance. In this brand-new
adaptation, experience the Mad Hatter’s tea party first-hand, play croquet with the Queen
of Hearts, dance with Lobsters and compete in the caucus race!
Open Book Theatre Company stages faithful interpretations of classic novels in library
spaces. They create innovative adaptations of the novels, scripted and devised from the
source material, whilst reinventing the library as a performance space. They want to urge the
local community to explore their library, to encourage wider reading of classic literature and
to inspire a new generation of theatre-goers, specifically targeting those who have little or
no access to affordable theatre.
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland will offer the opportunity for local families to experience
their library as never before; the audience will be led through the library and behold its
transformation into the magical world of Wonderland. The show will incorporate original
music, songs, dance and puppetry, all used to create a theatrical spectacle filled with fun,
excitement and plenty of laughs.
