The Real Greek has closed it's doors and sold the Putney site to Preto a Brazilian steakhouse which currently has one restaurant in Wilton Street in Pimlico SW3.

Frankie's on the corner of Oxford Rd & Putney Bridge Road also closed their doors on Sunday with no notice - currently there has been no comment from the company. Frankie's is part of the restaurant group owned by Marco Pierre White and was a shared business with former jockey Frankie Dettori.

Stephen Wallace the Putney Town centre Manager said:
"
‘Preto’, a new Brazilian restaurant, is due to open at the site of the former Real Greek restaurant in Putney High Street (corner of Putney Bridge Rd) in about 5 weeks time following an extensive refit. It will be following a proven formula of an existing and successful sister business in Victoria, so is likely to do well. It should be a good addition to the town and shows continuing long-term commitment to inward investment in Putney."

In addition on
the subject of eating in Putney he continued:
"T
he Rocket restaurant in Putney Wharf, which has been lavishly refurbished fairly recently, is about to introduce a new improved menu to cater for Putney tastes. They also have a good selection of wines. It’s in a great location by the river so is well worth a visit on a hot summer’s day."
