Four candidates have been nominated to stand in the forthcoming by-election in West Putney ward.

The contest, which follows the resignation of Labour councillor Claire Gilbert will be held on Thursday 2 May, the same day as the Mayor of London and London Assembly elections.

Long considered a safe seat by the Conservatives, Labour took two of the three seats in the 2022 local elections with a tiny gap between the candidates of the two parties.

Nick Austin will be hoping to win back the seat for the Tories with Jane Briginshaw defending it for Labour. Mark Leiman is representing the Liberal Democrats with Fergal McEntee standing for the Green Party.

To vote in person, you will need to attend your polling station between the hours of 7am and 10pm on polling day. You will be required to present an accepted form of photo ID in order to be issued with a ballot paper. Read more about the requirement to bring photo ID
