The Putney Society is pleased to announce the launching of the Putney Society Discount Card Scheme, which is being set up to encourage more of us to shop locally at small independent businesses. The aim of the scheme is to increase local trade, which has suffered somewhat with the loss of office space.

Currently the society has signed up about 40 local shops and businesses to the scheme. There are restaurants, hair dressers, dry cleaners, glaziers, a picture framer, a kitchen supplier, a tile shop, beauty spas, a plumber’s merchant, a baker, a shoe shop, an antique gift shop, a shop supplying wooden flooring, and many more.

A spokesperson for the socierty told this website:
" There are still a few shops we haven’t had a chance to visit, but we aim to cover as many as possible: it will be an ongoing project as new shops open."

The participating businesses will have a small sticker in their window to show they are part of this promotion and are offering discounts to Members. This sticker can be seen below:

You will be able to view the shops and their offers on our website shortly. Note that benefits/discounts offered by participating businesses are granted entirely at their discretion, the Putney Society cannot be held responsible for changes to terms or availability of discounts or offers.

Are you are interested in joining the scheme and having a discount card? Then you must first become a member of the Society. You can download a membership form on www.putneysociety.org.uk or come to the Launch on 25 February at 6.30pm, St Mary’s Church, where you can sign up on the spot and receive your discount card.

The Society encourages all members to come along on 25 February and meet our local business people. Any questions to Vicky Diamond: vickysw15@aol.com.
