July 25, 2025 The Wimbledon and Putney Commons Conservators (WPCC) has announced that All Star Tennis has been appointed as the new operator of the Putney Lower Common Tennis Courts. The company will be undertaking a full refurbishment of the site this autumn and reopening targeted for spring 2026. The upgrade will see all five courts brought up to modern playing standards. Founded in 1999, All Star Tennis already operates six venues across Wandsworth, including Leaders Gardens and Wandsworth Park. The Putney Lower Common site will be its seventh. Ben White, Director of All Star Tennis, said, “We’re thrilled to be partnering with WPCC to bring the Putney Lower Common Tennis Courts back into use. We’re committed to delivering a space that will serve the community for years to come. We appreciate everyone’s patience while the necessary repairs are carried out and look forward to welcoming players of all ages and abilities once the site reopens.” Colin Cooper, Chief Executive of WPCC, added:, “The tennis courts at Putney Lower Common have long been a valued and integral part of the Commons, and their full restoration is a key priority. WPCC is pleased to be partnering with All Star Tennis to ensure that the site reopens with high-quality, accessible facilities.”
