The closure of the Body Shop outlet on Putney High Street is not a sign of decline in the area according sources connected with the local retail sector.

Body Shop is going through a period of contraction and their decision to close their Putney branch had been made some time ago. They have closed other outlets across London recently.

The reason for closure was a request from the landlord for an increased rent payment. The asking rent was £60,000 per annum but even at that level there is reportedly good interest from new tenants.
