Summer Reading Challenge For Local Kids | |||
Wandsworth's Get Reading campaign aims at 4-11 year olds
This year's Summer Reading Challenge kicks off in borough libraries next week. The theme this year is Circus Stars. A certificate and medal will be given to each child who completes the challenge. Older children aged 11-15 can take part in Reading Challenge Plus, while younger children can enjoy the Circus Stars Book Crawl. Visit your children's librarian at your local library for a special pack and a set of incentives. Visit www.circus-stars.org.uk for a range of activities and tasks. For adult readers, bestseller collections are now being stocked in Balham, Battersea, Putney, Tooting and Wandsworth Town libraries. The collections are based on the Top 20 mass market fiction charts, and the five libraries will have collections of up to 50 titles, with multiple copies of each. The choice includes the latest titles by Martina Cole, Patricia Cornwell and the Channel 4 TV Book Club Summer Reads promotion. These books will only be available for a two week loan period and will not be renewable. They will be available from July 11th.
