Thanks to the Hintzes, and to the public awareness created by the Wandsworth Museum Campaign Group, the  business plan  developed by Wandsworth’s councillors and officers should provide a new Museum ready to open in April 2008.

This is a dramatic change from January’s news.  The plan will provide a Museum with support in place from day one.   The Hintze Foundation, an influential Board of Directors, the dedicated Friends organisation, commitment of Wandsworth’s amenity societies plus help from our Council will ensure its success.  Concerns about unresolved issues are normal at the start of a major new enterprise; resolution of those issues will make success even more rewarding.

And an added bonus for Putney will be the arrival of the special display related to Putney’s history, which will be installed in the library in October.

The Putney Society thanks all responsible for this excellent news, and wishes the Museum a very successful future.

Chairman, the Putney Society
