Putney nine year old's 5k run raises extraordinary sum

Nine year old Tobias Davey completed his first ever 5k run, and has raised funds for Trinity Hospice in Clapham beyond his expectations.

Tobias tackled the 5k Colour Run, in Wembley Park on 1st June, for his father, Geoff Davey, who is currently an in-patient at Trinity Hospice in Clapham. Tobias said:
“I wanted to do something to help the hospice and show my dad how much I love him. They have been looking after my dad, who has terminal cancer. The nurses and doctors there are fantastic - so kind and patient.”



Tobias's mother Vanessa (pictured above with Tobias & his brother & paceman Kit) told PutneySW15:
"We are so proud of what he has achieved. This will be something he can look back on with great pride in later years."

‘It is really amazing that someone so young has decided to do something so important for both Trinity and his family. Tobias has nearly raised enough to fund a Trinity nurse for 6 months, so we really hope people can support his fundraising efforts’.

Fundraising like this helps to raise vital funds for Trinity Hospice, which provides skilled, compassionate care for terminally ill patients and their families in south-west and central London. Trinity receives less than a third of its funding from the government, so it relies on the generosity of local people to help it raise £7million every year to continue providing its vital care free of charge.
