Wandsworth
Police received over a hundred knives in a month-long campaign to get
the weapons off the street.
Operation Blunt began in December and knife surrender bins were placed
outside police stations for people to do their part for society and dump
their knives and blades.
A
selection of the knives handed in were designed to be offensive weapons.
Chief Supt. Joe Royle seen with a slection of the weapons said:
�Some very nasty knives were handed in and a major motivation of Operation
Blunt was to educate the public, especially teenagers, on the dangers
of carrying knives. Both to their personal safety and breaking the
law.�
