Top end sales push average back over £700,000

After seeing a fall from record levels in the previous month property prices in the SW15 post code area bounced back strongly during November.
The average price during the month was £701,240, one of the highest monthly averages on record. There were 88 homes sold of which 14 went for one million pounds or more.
The most expensive sale during the month was a house in Hazlewell Road which cost its new owners £3,800,000.
London continued to see the highest prices rises with the average up by 10.6% over the year to £396,646. Over the course of the month the average level in the capital rose by 1.8%
The November data from Land Registry's House Price Index shows an annual price increase of 3.2% which takes the average property value in England and Wales to £165,411. Currently all regions except the north east are seeing price rises.
Repossession volumes decreased by 23 per cent in September 2013 to 1,036 compared to 1,337 in September 2012.
The most up-to-date figures available show that during September 2013 the number of completed house sales in England & Wales increased by 24 per cent to 65,378 compared with 52,870 in September 2012. The number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1 million in September 2013 increased by 60 per cent to 1,020 from 639 in September 2012.
