Top end of SW15 market continues to see limited turnover

Luxury properties in the Putney area seem to be still less popular with buyers according to the October sales figures from the Land Registry.
Of the 89 homes changing hands during the month only six sold for over £1,000,000. This compares with 16 during the peak month of August 2011.
The average price of a property sold was £544,589 which is slightly up on September.
Three houses sold for over £2,000,000 during the month the most expensive of which was on Hazlewell Road costing £2,950,000.
Sales of flats in the Portland House development in Chartfield Avenue appear to be brisk with 31 units being sold during the month.
According the Land Registry's October report the average price in London was £340,308 which was down by 1.6% on September. Despite this prices are still up over the last 12 months - London is the only area of the UK in which there has been a rise
The October data from Land Registry's national House Price Index shows an annual price decrease of 3.2% which takes the average property value in England and Wales to £159,999.
The numbers below are subject to revision as is it usual that some properties are added late to the Land Registry's database. The latest reported sales are given in the table below.
