I had to take two last night when I walked in to Putney's GBK and ask if indeed it was still a GBK! The restaurant has had a refurb in layout, decor and service.

New uniform and two more tables were the first things that hit me - the extra covers have been enabled by changing self ordering at the counter to table service - it potentially slows things down a bit since it means you cant rush off to the cinema or Fulham kick off as soon as you have finished as you must catch the eye of the waiting staff to get and pay your bill.

The menu remains much the same and was given the thumbs up by the family - the BBQ burger came with lashings of smoky BBQ sauce (£7.65) with salad, mayonnaise & relish. The cheese burger (£7.10) with extra bacon (£1.60) and the chicken
burger (£6.40) were served as requested " no salad or relish - just mayo please!" Three of the four in the party tucked in to crisp chunky fries (2.95 each).

The fussy eater in the party was on a diet and the staff had no problem in adapting the menu to suit producing a salad of marinated grilled chicken (£3.60) on the GBK salad (£5.65) - mixed leaf salad, cherry tomatoes, avocado, red onions, pine nuts & "sorry hold the" house dressing.

The chocolate milk-shakes (£3.65) were gi-normous compared with other establishments and very popular - in my mind they are equal to a pudding! The large glass of Culpeo Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot from Chile (£4.65) was very palatable and everyone walked away very satisfied.

I am not sold on the new "beach shack" styled counter but the increased seating and quality burgers will always win us over and if you join the GBK Gang you get notified of special offers available that make the meal great value for money- go and enjoy!
