Cafe: Breakfast from 8am through to 12 noon with croissants, eggs Florentine, Benedict or a morning steak. Freshly ground coffee and freshly squeezed juices are all on the menu. The lunchtime menu is served daily between 12 noon and 3.30 pm and options include insalate, antipasti, pasta and risotto and sandwiches.

Restaurant: There is also a set lunch menu at a discounted rate of £12.50 for two courses and three courses at £ 14.50. The main menu is also available from 12 noon to 3.30pm and from 6.30pm till 11pm. This menu is offers antipasti, pasta and risotto, fish and meat dishes including Sellina d'Agnello (roast rack of lamb with roast artichokes, new potatoes and rosemary jus).

Member comments: " It didn’t seem to matter to them that they had spoiled the special surprise I had for my daughter. I wanted her birthday cake presented to her intact because it had been decorated specially for her. Al Forno staff ruined it completely, they gave our cake to another party and the child that they presented it to had picked off all the sweets and eaten them. They didn’t even realize their mistake until I pointed it out to them then they actually tried to deny it and had the audacity to fob us off with the half eaten, well-handled leftovers, which doesn’t say much for their hygiene standards. They seemed to think it was a joke. Black marks to the Al Forna, they have lost us and many more customers. "

"lovely atmosphere and the pizzas are baked in a traditional stone oven that is open and visible from most tables in the restaurant. The chef who makes the pizzas quite often puts on a show while making the pizzas. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very authentic and the service is
generally good but the main reason I think this restaurant deserves its entry on this listing is their PIZZA!!!"

"Always phone and book before you go as they are quite popular and if you don't like pizzas don't worry, they do pasta, fish and other dishes. If you don't have time to hang around - they also do takeaway of their lovely pizzas!"

Member comments: "I visited there twice. The first time when it had just opened when the pasta was precooked and overdone and a very mediocre sauce. I went back there about two months ago - just the same, except this time the pasta was also cold and had to be sent back to be reheated which resulted in it being overcooked again!" "So, what a shame - when they have a lovely garden at the back which is great on a nice day - so forget the food, drink the wine!" "Yes, Cafe Pasta is pretty dire in the culinary department, with pasta glutinous and sauces oily and unimaginative. One exception - the bruschetta al pomodoro... delic and very keenly priced. I agree that the house wine is excellent. Shame that the food at Cafe Pasta is generally so poor because it has a large non-smoking section, and such things are not easy to find outside California!"

Member comments: A recent visitor from the USA quoted this as the "best meal" she had had in Putney.
Very good food which was also good value - however the restaurant needs a little more attention to other detail - visual marketing - the cutlery was reminiscent of school canteens and the passage to the downstairs w.c needs brightening up. This does not detract from the culinary standard but could be improved.

Member comments: "really disappointed with the food. We were on a “three courses for £10” deal, but it really wasn’t good quality. The service was good, pizzas were average, but everything else (including a jug of cocktail) was pretty bad – a dish of ”roasted Mediterranean vegetables” didn’t contain any peppers, but had broccoli, and Minestrone soup was more like winter vegetable – no meat or pasta. The whole place could do with a lick of paint too. "
