Head injuries and the treatment of concussion are major current issues in Rugby Union. Local club Rosslyn Park have organised a lecture on the subject – ‘concussion – what it is and how to manage it’ – aimed at coaching staff, physios and sports injury therapists at Club and School level.

The key speaker is Dr Katy Hornby, Sports and Exercise Medicine Registrar at Charing Cross Hospital, who is currently a member of the Rosslyn Park 1st XV medical team having previously been with Exeter Chiefs.

The lecture is 8:00 – 9:00pm on Thursday 29 January at the Rosslyn Park Clubhouse (corner of Priory Lane and Upper Richmond Road).

The evening is entirely non-profit making. Admission is a token £5 on the door, which is a donation to the Rosslyn Park Injuries Trust Fund, a registered charity which helps sports people who suffer serious injury.

Rosslyn Park Head Physiotherapist, Pippa Rollitt, said, “I would urge local clubs and schools to send a representative – it could save someone you know from a life-changing injury”.
