Carnivores of Putney are used to the summer closing of the Popeseye on the Upper Richmond Road, but this year PutneySW15.com has been told it is not going to reopen after the Bank Holiday.

We contacted the company as there is no regular 'on-holiday notice' on the door and the restaurant is no longer listed on the company website - there are two other restaurants in Hammersmith/Olympia and Highgate.

A spokesperson for the restaurants said: "We are not re-opening as we have decided not to renew the lease. We look forward to welcoming our regulars over at our Blythe Road restaurant."

If you can't make the journey 'north of the river' carnivores can stroll further east along the Upper Richmond Road to Roxie's.
