After 25 years in Putney, Enoteca Turi is to close its doors to make way for a new development. The last meal at the restaurant will be served on New Year's Eve.

Pam Turi said, ‘The past quarter century has been an incredible journey of learning that has enriched our lives, as well as a great pleasure and privilege to serve our many loyal customers.’

The restaurant received a huge wave of support from the local community and beyond when it first became apparent that its future was under threat. Despite negotiation with their landlord, a combination of higher rent, a lease that was too short and the time and cost of total refurbishment at the site made a return unviable. They say the objections lodged by over 600 people have not been in vain because they have led to a change in the design which has created a more agreeable development with a better retail unit on this site.

Pam added, ‘In the last year we have built a brilliant team under Head Chef Michele Blasi and Restaurant Manager Cesare Papagna. In order not to lose our staff, we have taken the decision to relocate to premises where we can start again in a short period of time. Negotiations for a new site are under way.

‘Whilst we are excited about the new project, our focus now is to leave Putney with a truly memorable legacy, providing excellence until the very last moment.’
