Thamesfield Councillor Jim Maddan has turned to Mayor Johnson in an email as local frustration grows with engineering works on both local tube & rail services this weekend.

In his email Jim requests that the Mayor's Office ensures that the public transport providers interact to ensure that disruption is minimal to residents.

Dear Boris

I have had a number of complaints made to me that there is no coordination of engineering works on the underground network and Network Rail at weekends

This weekend (8th/9th October) there are no District Line trains between Edgware Road and Wimbledon via Putney AND there are no South West Trains between Barnes and Waterloo via Putney

How are the residents of Putney expected to get about our great city

Can you use your good offices to kick some ass and ensure that the two major public transport providers in South West London talk to each other

Kind regards

Jim Maddan

Richard Tracey Assembley Member for Wandsworth & Merton told PutneySW15.com, " This is a classic example of an absence of joined up thinking. I have asked Tube and Network Rail bosses to get their heads together more efficiently and sort it out. In these days when we hear so much about 'integrated transport', this is not the way to do things."

As yet there has been no response from TfL, Mayor Johnson - we will keep you posted!
