The public consultation for Putney Post Office® branch move & modernisation began on 7th August 2012 and will close on 18th September 2012.

The Post Office® are proposing moving the branch from
214 Upper Richmond Street, London, SW15 6TF to 197 Upper Richmond Road, SW15 6SG.

In addition to the move the branch is proposed to become a new main style branches.

According to the Post Office®, the move of this branch is part of a three year investment and support programme, the largest in the history of Post Office Ltd, which will see around 6,000 branches (about half the Post Office network) converting to new style branches.

The aim of the new style branches is to create a more modern and convenient retail experience for customers, which will include longer opening hours. This investment means there will be no further programme of branch closures planned and the Post Office network will be maintained at its current size, making sure Post Office Ltd products and services remain at the heart of communities across the UK.

The Post Office® says that for customers this will mean:
• A modern open plan branch in newly refurbished premises
• Longer opening hours
• The same products and services you’re used to
• Improved accessibility.

Through the 6 week consultation period the Post Office® would like to hear residents views views on the proposed location, particularly on the following areas:
• How suitable you think the new location and premises are
• How easy it is to get there
• Are the new premises easy for you to get into and is there easy access inside?
• Do you have any concerns about the new location?
• If so, do you have any suggestions that could help us make it better for you
• Any local community issues which you think could be affected by the proposed move
• Anything you particularly like about the proposed change.
