Putney Christmas Lights and Market 2011 | |||||
Friday 2nd December , 3 -7.45pm in Church Square, Putney High Street (by the bridge)
This year’s ‘Putney Christmas Lights and Market’ event will be held on Friday 2nd December between 3pm -7.45pm in Church Square, Putney High Street (by the Odeon). It builds on last year’s extremely popular event which attracted nearly 2000 people and promises to be great fun, with many Putney shops remaining open until 8pm or later. The Putney Partnership and Wandsworth Council have been working hard to make this a fun event to remember. There will be entertainment for all the family, a Christmas market and festive light/Christmas tree lights switch-on. There’ll be a fine selection of refreshments including mulled wine, hot mince pies, Christmas gifts, takeaway food and lots of opportunities to buy presents for friends & family. Adults will love the live Alfresco Steel Band and carols, hot mulled wine and mince pies, comprehensive Christmas market and great festive atmosphere. The main Christmas Lights switch-on by local MP Justine Greening will be at 6pm, when the enormous Christmas Tree will be illuminated and all the High Street festive lights will be switched on. This fantastic event is made possible by the kind support of Wandsworth Council and local sponsors, including ‘major sponsors’ Chesterton Humberts (proud sponsors of the Christmas tree), Russell-Cooke Solicitors and Flight Centre Putney, and ‘sponsors’ Spiro Health, Putney Society and Rotary Club of Putney. Many thanks to them all.
