University of Roehampton welcomes him to present a lecture on “Bad Pharma”
His second book Bad Pharma discusses problems in medicine, focusing on missing trials, badly designed research, and biased dissemination of evidence. He wrote the Bad Science column for a decade in The Guardian newspaper, and has written for numerous other publications including the Times, the Telegraph, the Mail, the New York Times, and the British Medical Journal, alongside presenting documentaries for the BBC. Dr Goldacre’s talk on Thursday 20th March, is part of a series of activities during the Whitelands College Science Week, which runs from 19-25 March in which the Department of Life Sciences and Department of Psychology will celebrate all things science. The programme includes guest lecturers, poster presentation, interactive workshops, discussions and demonstrations. Science Week concludes with the debate ‘To Vaccinate or not to Vaccinate? and will provide an opportunity for learning about vaccination with experts, drawn primarily from the University.
