Putney Remembers This Sunday

Two of the three main Remembrance Day services in the borough on Sunday, November 8 will take place locally. These will be St Mary's Church, Putney Bridge and also at Holy Trinity Church, Ponsonby Road, Roehampton. There will also be a service at St Mary’s Church in Battersea Church Road.

Following the church services, local dignitaries and ex-servicemen and women will lay wreaths at the three respective war memorials and a two minute silence will be observed at 11am in memory of the fallen.

The Putney and Battersea war memorials are situated outside the two churches. Roehampton’s is on Roehampton Heath at the top of Medfield Street.

Deputy Mayor Cllr Leslie McDonnell will attend Putney’s services while the Mayor of Wandsworth Cllr Nicola Nardelli will attend the Battersea service.
